Various parts of the plant, including bark, leaves, flowers, fruits and roots have been used as traditional remedies for centuries for its therapeutic properties. Its fruits and flowers are the most widely-studied parts that are reported to have high contents of various nutrients and antioxidants, such as phenolic acid, flavanols, and anthocyanins.
